Sky Matrix is a flight-briefing assistant for pilots. It reads your Operational Flight Plan (OFP) and turns it into a clear inflight companion: weather and NOTAMs, an inflight display with timers and reminders, crew-rest planning, dangerous-goods reference and announcement help. It is for reference and individual use only, not for operational use, the official hard-copy OFP always governs the flight.

Every device can start one free trial directly from the app's welcome screen, no payment details needed. Tap Start Trial, confirm your email, and your access code is issued to that device. The trial runs once per device; when it ends you can subscribe to keep using the app.

Open skymatrix.biz/app.html in Safari (iPad/iPhone) or Chrome (Android), then use Share → Add to Home Screen. It installs as a full-screen app and works offline after the first load. Android users can alternatively install the signed APK from the Download section of the home page.

One subscription covers two devices — typically an iPad and a phone. Each access code is cryptographically bound to the device that generated its Device ID, using a signature only our server can produce, so request a code on each device using the same email. Adding a third device retires the oldest. To move your setup across, use Load → Back up & move your setup → Save to my account on the first device and Load onto this device on the second. If you replace a device, contact admin@skymatrix.biz to move your licence.

After you activate the app you set a PIN once. From then on, each time you open the app you unlock it with that PIN, or with Face ID / fingerprint if you enabled biometric unlock. You are never asked to re-enter your licence code, and app updates never re-prompt for it.

On the login screen choose Forgot PIN. Because your licence is still valid on the device, you can reset the PIN and set a new one without buying a new code. If you cleared the app's data entirely, you may need to re-activate with your existing access code.

You'll see a reminder popup starting 7 days before expiry. When it lapses, the app shows a "get a new code" screen and returns to the welcome flow so you can subscribe or renew. Your typed flight data stays on the device.

Updates: no. The app updates itself automatically, you simply get the latest version next time you open it, and your access code and PIN are never re-requested. Reinstalling on Android: also no, your licence is tied to a stable device identity that survives uninstall and reinstall, so the same code keeps working. On iPhone/iPad, clearing Safari's website data can reset the device identity; if that happens, email admin@skymatrix.biz and we'll re-issue your code for the new Device ID at no charge.

You don't have to do anything, feature and fix updates arrive automatically the next time you open Sky Matrix (it always loads the latest version). The only exception is a new Android APK shell: because it's installed outside the Play Store, occasional shell updates (rare) are announced on our changelog and you install the new APK manually.

On the Load screen, drop in (or choose) your OFP as a PDF or text file, the app extracts the text and fills the briefing automatically. You can also tap Read with AI (beta) to have our OFP reader parse less-common layouts. If a field looks uncertain it is flagged for you to check rather than shown silently.

Yes. Once loaded, the app runs offline, timers, rest planning, the inflight display, your saved OFP and typed values all work with no connection. Features that fetch live data (PDF text extraction the first time, aircraft lookup, live weather/NOTAM refresh, AI reading and announcement fill) need internet.

Aircraft lookup uses the official Flightradar24 data service for type and route. Live weather and NOTAMs are pulled from public aviation sources; if a live source is unavailable, the app falls back to the weather already contained in your OFP. As with all data in the app, treat it as reference, verify against official sources.

In "My announcements" you can upload an announcement template (photo, PDF or text). The tool reads it, fills the blanks with this flight's data and your name in your chosen language, and gives you a finished script to copy. Always review before use.

Yes, monthly, 6-month and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period so your access is uninterrupted. You can cancel any time before the next renewal from the billing link in your purchase receipt; access continues until the paid period ends.

Your flight data and settings stay on your device. We only process the minimum needed for licensing (your Device ID and email) and, when you use them, for AI OFP reading / announcements. Full details are on the Privacy & Security page.
